The other day I checked out the car I'm going to buy. When I started it up, it felt like there was some type of hesitation... It wasn't really bad or anything, but I did notice it. The owner turned on the car and said it has always been like that. He is the 2nd owner of the car, he bought the car from his dad(who bought it new.) I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I think it may be something with the ignition. This is the first time I've driven a 3rd gen. so it may just sound different starting it up rather than my '87. But, it didn't sound quite right. Any suggestions anyone? thanks
Oh yea one more thing what type of oil do you all use? Cause it needs an oil change. I know, no high synthetics.. |
20w50 oil. Can you be more specific about the start up problem?
|
15/50 synth.
Sounds like either a starter related problem or nothing at all. |
Mine has always started kinda ... funny? Sounds like no other car... But then again... it's like no other.
Give us a hair more detail if you can. Oh, and PICS!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
mine is loud when I start it.
|
You're going to get a TON of different oppinions on the oil issue. some even saying to use synthetics. About 1.5 months this came up. Maybe you can find the thread.
Castrol 20W-50 with Fram filters for me every 2,000 miles. Have fun. Tom |

It's kinda hard to explain. It doesn't sound like a big problem or anything. I mean the car runs great (as far as I know) but it just takes a little longer for it to start (like 4 or 5 more seconds) for some reason...sorry if I can't explain it all that great. thanks
P.S. how the hell do u post pics? |
