Whats the word on putting a motorcycle or atv battery in a 3rd gen? its the only one I can find that's small enough... anyone else done this?

j9fd3s 01-13-2003 12:41 PM

vosko 01-13-2003 01:18 PM

rx7trix 01-13-2003 01:32 PM

Thank you for sharing.... I CANT FIT A BIG BATTERY THOUGH!

Geez man dont you have anything constructive?! :bigthumg: I"m just ****** with you vosko thanks for the help with the IC piping.

vosko 01-13-2003 01:48 PM

get off your butt and just relocate that sucker ! you know you want to ! :smirk:

rx7trix 01-13-2003 01:56 PM

I dont want to put a wet battery in the car.. either way I have to go dry cell.... for example... if I use a smaller wet battery in the trunk or storage bin and it leaks or explodes.....I'm fucked not to mention the interior of the car.

i recommend the hawker oddyssey 925...

higher cca....ull be able to run more accessories without issue...

had no problems with pully kit...

only difference of 10lbs in comparison with the 680...

vosko 01-13-2003 02:12 PM

the optima is a sealed battery so it won't get battery acid everywhere https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

rx7trix 01-13-2003 02:19 PM

amp... isnt the 925 larger? I'd like to run the 925 but I'm worried about space

amp 01-13-2003 02:50 PM

yes its larger ..

depending on your applications and your plans of relocation ...

space may not be an issue ...

you can run the 925 on its side if need be ....

i dont run a large ic so the 925 sits on the stock location using the factory bracket and tray ...

ive just had the rear bins out ...

certainly believe the 925s ability to fit on the floor if relocated there...

providing the bottom portion is removed or modified ...

amp 01-13-2003 02:53 PM

ill provide a height pic tonite...

birdseye view is not as convincing...

as it does not completely depict the major difference with that of a regular battery...

estimate is a third..

rx7trix 01-13-2003 04:41 PM

whoa... that definitly won't fit...

rx7trix 01-13-2003 04:41 PM

lemme see a side shot

rx7machine 01-13-2003 10:04 PM

Would this battery fit with a M2 large/med smic? thanks.

j9fd3s 01-13-2003 11:52 PM

the pc680 will fit, sorry i dont have a pic

mike

GoRacer 01-14-2003 01:18 AM

The PC680 is used by lot's of FD owners (including myself). But "don't" leave the lights, radio or any acessories on without the engine on, unless you like push starting. You can not bolt it down with the factory stuff, so just pay the extra cash and buy the kit from www.n-tech.net and afterwards you can buy the replacement battery elsewhere.

Performance wise of various batteries.. which battery is the best? (One that can fit it the stock location.) thanks.

amp 01-14-2003 10:37 PM

height pic..

amp 01-14-2003 10:41 PM

note that the 925 can be placed on its side for additional clearance....

SPOautos 01-17-2003 10:39 AM

The Hawker works fine and is actually a motorcycle battery for the real big Harley....which had a bigger motor than us lol

Will the 925 Hawker fit with a M2 large smic? (in engine bay w/o having to relocate) thanks.
