i have searched and searched think im getting lost on all the diff info,my car is a 93 j spec, blitz intake, 3" cb, everything else is stock, i have a petitt unlimited ecu sitting around but dont want to use it , not sure what it will do with boost?, i want to install a dp but j spec doesnt have a precat, dont know if the upgrade would be that sugnifigant, cant find much info on j spec comparisons ? i dont want to port the wastegate if i dont have to but prolly will,do i need a boost controller, would like to hit 12psi, just want to be safe with minor mods, any info would be helpfull, thanx in advance

you need to find out how much that ECU is setup for before u think about boosting over stock and if you wanna boost over 10 psi on the stock computer ur asking for a blown motor especially if it nice and cool outside. if u dont know the boost on that ECU dont use it until u find out. as long as you have some sort of cat wether it be a high flow or stock, you souldnt have any boost creep. i wouldnt boost past 10 on any ecu unless its a stand alone like a PFC, haltech etc, and a good tune.

ecu is set up for 1 bar of boost, will the ecu change my boost pressure? or will it have to be controlled electronic, manual to change?

1 bar {13-14psi} is way to much for stock and the ecu is using the stock boost control solenoid. i would just bypass the solenoid with a manual controller if you want 12 psi. 12 pounds on a stock setup is still pushing it, i ran 15psi with a dp, twin intakes and a uego wideband on a aem ems with a very conservative tune and the injector duty was around 95 %. the stock fuel system is maxed out with that presure and the turbos create way to much heat damaging the engine and being very inneficiant my hp #s dropped almost 17 after 1 pull. car dynoed 287whp on first pull though. good luck hoped i helped

ok so if i leave stock boost,add a dp,leave the cat in for protection,install petitt ecu, and install a intercooler,i should be good? what numbers should i see? does this sound good?

the first thing i would buy is a wideband o2 sensor especialy if you plan on using the pettit ecu I dont know much about them but they probly come with a generic tune little more boost,leaner fuel map and more advanced ignition. i would run just the ecu to start with and see what type of boost and afr's it is using, if your happy with the numbers and they are safe then i would start adding things and see how it affects the ecu and #'s. the intercooler i fabed up for my car made significant afr changes, the whole system becomes much more efficient when you get rid of the sharp bends and tiny air cooler.

afr's are very important for the life of your engine and the stock injectors cant hold much over stock, they were meant for the car how it is and that is stock.

i under stand turbo cars i have owned a couple r32 skylines, but rotary is new for me , just dont know how sensitive the fd system is, im running a wideband already , numbers are good with stock ecu, just want the car a little more responsive

rotary engines are EXTREMELY fickle about the way u tune it, detonation is your worst enemy and running lean is a sure fire way to blow your motor reall quick. if the ecu is setup for one bar then that is what the car is going to run unless u have a boost controller to turn it down, but the stock fuel system just wont be up to par for that kind of pressure. has it been done yes, but your on the ragged edge and pushing it.
