Ok, well as you know i just finished installing my T78 and FMIC.



Well today i finally started her up. Ran into some problems...



1. Oil leak, major, oil return line. Guessing the gasket i got from Majestic turbo was the wrong one..



2. Car wants to overheat. Don't know if its related to the MASSIVE OIL LEAK i had on my turbo or possibly the fans are hooked up incorrectly?



Anyways, i'm kinda tired and frustrated. I'm thinking i will make my OWN gasket out of some gasket material from an autoparts store or some **** for the oil return line. If anyone has any suggestions. Please post your thoughts.

Well, yea you do need oil to help keep the car cool, https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif So get that squared away and I think you'll see your temp problem fixed. But just to check, are the fans coming on or not? I was wondering why you dont know if they are wired incorrectly? You should have no problem kicking the fans on by turning the ac on in the car.

Gasket. I would use some RTV and just cut your own gasket. I think you are on track there.

yeah i plan on doin the RTV and gasket maker crap today. The fan problem is that i don't know if they are connected to the right fans.. like connector 1 to fan 2 instead of fan 1... since there is a primary and secondary fan. The fans to do come on.. but not til the car is hot hot hot.

did you drain the coolant?? it's going to want to overheat until you get all the air out...

yeah i had to drain the coolant to install the FMIC and stuff.. so i think maybe i'm just working with a couple air pockets left in the system.. any tips on how to bleed it? usually i just fill the funnel up and let the bubbles come up and replace the coolant..

that's usually the case... just start her up for a bit.. shut down... let it cool down... and add coolant.. you may have to do this several times...

The best way to get the air out is to pull the small water hose off at the throttle body. This will allow the air a way to escape. When coolant/water starts to flow out of the hose, put it back on and you should be close to having the air out but should still let it warm up, cool down and refill.

well i don't have coolant running to the throttle body anymore, but i do still have that line, but connected to the filler neck, i will try that to see if it helps.. putting the return line back on the turbo is a bitch.. i wasted a bunch of time doing that to no success.. so tomorrow i will just "clock" the turbo over to get underneath it, instead of mangling my arms and hands..

oh and did i mention, i have a vacuum leak somewhere too.. but i don't have **** really.. all my lines are connected and everything else is plugged up... could it be an injector o-ring making the hissing noise?

We use a special funnel for burping the coolant system. Its a tight fit so it locks into the filler neck. The top has a large resivour so you put in a bunch of coolant, and the motor takes it as needed. Also allows the bubbles to escape. I also no longer have the tb coolant so its a bit of a pain to get all the air out. What did you different with the fans?

Update:



Fixed my coolant problem.. just a lot of air in the system.. so thats taken care of.



Oil leak taken care of.. i still have a small one from the oil pan. grrrr



Vacuum leak, taken care of as well, ended up being my primary injector "rail", wasn't tightened down all the way and was leaking air.



So, now i just need to tune it, drove it around today..



Caught one of my a/c lines on fire.. the black plastic tubing got against the turbo and lit up.. was not cool. but took care of it and wrapped that line in some heat tape so it should be all good now. I'll post pics soon.
