I have a problem in that I do not have a map sensor that works. I have tried to track a replacement, but Mazda has to source one from Japan and I have been told that they are currently out of stock in Japan as well. I have been told that the map sensors are different for each model of RX7 and are not interchangeable, which rules out taking one from any earlier models, wheather this is true or not I do not know.

I would like to know if there are any other options that I can look at besides the OEM sensor, are there any aftermarket alternatives?

Are there also any ECUs that I could use which would take the place of it - or do they all require the OEM map sensor to operate?

Thank you in advance for your help.

The boost control kit looks like only the solenoid.

I have the OEM one off my 93 here I could sell you. I am a very long way away from you, however. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png I think it would cost more to ship it than the price of the sensor itself. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

Find someone with a Haltech in your area and get the sensor from them.

I am currently only running on the standard ECU, and have found out that a replacement OEM MAP sensor is going to cost me about $800 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png through Mazda NZ. It is to go on a 2002 and I cannot find one anywhere so am trying to track down a replacement even if it means having to buy a new ECU which is something I was going to do anyway. If MAP sensors are the same from 98 -02 this might make things a little easier for me hopefully.

Is there a place that I can buy OEM Map sensors online? or at least some site that could tell me the differences between them?

Do Haltech make something that I could use? I was looking at changing to PFC at some stage though.

Thank you for that.

Anyone know anything about the Haltech MAP sensors and how they operate? Do I have to have the Haltech ECU?

They use a GM map sensor from the 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans-Am. I know the Power FC has to be re-configured to use one before they will work together.
