Yeah....during moderate acceleration, my '93 Rx-7 pulls to the left. Its easily compensated for by minor corrections in steering, but the cars jumps back to the right when you abruptly let off the gas. The car still has ample amount of power and its not an alignment problem becuase the car drives straight at constant speeds. Im guessing that one tire is receiving more power than the other, but why? Or am I wrong altogether? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if your car has enough power it will pull one way or the other. i don't think your problem is in the differential usuall if a torsen breaks its BREAKS and is dead https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

check your tire pressure, if they are uneven in the back it will do that

hey my car does that but to the right under accel and back left when let go, and it just started doing that, WTF is that?!?!?!?!?! its not tire pressure i know that

Sounds like a tire pressure problem. If its not that start checking bushings and toe links.

Thanks for your replies, Mike, vosko, and chainsaw dude. Something tells me the problem is not related to tire pressure because (a) this JUST started happening and (b) the car drives flawlessly at constant speeds. The sway isnt that bad if you stab it quickly and let of the gas, but under WOT the car swerves VERY bad inbetween gears. Vosko mentioned that this is typical in a car with enough power. The car was exclusively modified at M2 performance with their downpipe, a cat-back exhaust, pulley set, and an intake. M2 supposedly modified the ecu for just more agreeable fuel ratio but the turbos spit out a little over 12 lbs. Relative to other cars, Rx-7's are obviously very fast but I dont think this one would be fast enough to cause it swerve this badly under boost. Any ideas, Rx-7 enthusiasts? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png

Why not grab a tire pressure gauge and just check what multiple people have suggested? I'm able to notice what you're describing with as little as 1psi pressure difference between the tires. Besides, if it suddenly started happening, who's to say you didn't pick up a nail / piece of glass / etc that's started a slow leak?

BTW, WTF is up with the " https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png " in response to people honestly trying to help? Way to make a first impression....

Oh, and if your tires are inflated well, you can start looking at other fun options, like motor mounts allowing the motor to rock too much under torque, diff mounts, cracked powerplant frame, worn rear suspension bushings, blown shocks, etc.

mine would do the same thing, it would just start happening, it was a nail in the tire.

Sorry, Travis, for the misunderstanding but the angry face was for frustration in relation to the myriad of promblems that seems to go wrong with Rx-7s in general. Ive had the car for 18 months and had to replace a 5th row synchro, did an entire transmission rebuild, had a lower IC hose explode, and had to do some minor radiator work. Love the car, hate the maintenance.

93 R1 04-23-2003 07:09 PM

My car did that same ****. Tire pressure was low on one side due to a nail. If its not your tires chack the rear suspension/ppf
