My idle starts at 2800 and then rises slowly to 3500+. I finished putting in my downpipe, intercooler, and new computer. I also recently did a vacuum hose job and also capped the aws hose that was connected to the intercooler elbow.

I took out the manifold and put it back in, no hoses were kinked or blown off. So i started it again

At first it shot up to 2500rpm, then it would slowly rise, almost to 3500rpm (keep in mind i capped the AWS hose so it shouldn't be that high)

I decided to let it run for a few minutes to let it warm up to regular temps... After about 30 sec. The rpm's were rising slowly from 2700 to about 3500rpm. The engine didn't sound too bad, but it was almost searching for a normal rpm to settle at, and kept rising. So I shut it off and didn't let it warm all the way up.

Oh ya and vaccum was at a solid 15 at first, then by the last time i turned it on the vac was at 18...before i did all my upgrades i was getting a solid 20, but i figure that if i get up to operating temps that I would probably be around 20 again

also, the computer is a pettit unlimited ecu

I've gotten some advice from some people and they seem to think it is a vacuum leak; hose or gasket.

If anyone has any other ideas i'd appreciate them, I'm only asking this because i won't be working on the car for close to a month and just want to know everything i should check out for. I'd really like to have it fixed before i start it next because it can't be good for my engine to sit for close to two months and then be reved up to 3500rpm right off the bat.

sorry for the ridiculously long post

Did you try adjusting the idle set screw on the throttle body?

no i haven't, if that was the problem, would my rpms still rise over 700rpm from where they begin (aroudn 2800) in about 30 seconds?

i thought about trying the idle screw, but i don't understand it, is it one of the two screws on the side of the TB near the windshield (fast cam screws) or is there one on the side facing the bumper? and which way should i turn it...CW or CCW?
