Hey folks,

I am in the process of swapping the third gen RX-7 suspension to my 73 240z. Notice I said in the process. By that I mean the entire suspension is pulled off my Z, and ready for the transplant. Originally I was going with the late model 300zx,(90+). However, the track width is rather wide compared to my Z, and the RX-7 is nearly the same size. Besides, all aluminum, lightweight, and a know quanity on handling.

I am trying to find out the mounting setup for the upper a-arm in the front, and the lower link in the rear. In other words, the parts that have to be fabricated and are not attached to the subframe/cradle. Any links or pictures are greatly appreciated. Ones with the wheels removed are the best, as well as shots from underneath or down in the engine bay w/o an engine. I have already found this site:

Also, I know the rear diff/cradle is attached to the powerplant frame,(don't know the real name, the brace from the tranny to the diff). Will I have to fabricate a mount/support where that came into the rear suspension?

I have yet to find a suitable donor car,(still a few salvage yards left that "say" they have what I am looking for).

I appreciate any help you can provide. BTW, the engine to motivate this is the r-33 skyline gt-r RB26dett.

Basically I sold my BMW M coupe to finance this project. I wanted a great track car that was a sleeper. The RX-7 suspension coupled with the RB motor in the lightweight 240Z chassis should be a great combo, providing I can make it all work....https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Thanks in advance for any links or pictures. Also, if you know anyone in the Noforlk, VA or 3-4 hour away area that has suspensions for sale, I would appreciate the information.

BTW,

I did do a search of the whole site and came up with nothing I am looking for. Very little is in the suspension section, and suspension is not really covered here.

Unfortunately I can not help you, but it sounds like a very cool project. There are quite a few old Z's over here on the West coast and I have always been a fan of them. Good luck!

Surely someone has some shots of the suspension with the wheels removed? I.E. they were taking a shot of their new brakes or rotors?

the upper suspension arms bolt to the body, there are brackets on the body of the car, i cant think of a place that would have pics of that right now.
