Ok, my car ran fine yesterday with my upgraded fuel pump and 850 secondaries. I pulled the 850's and installed 1300's this morning. Now I have 550's and 1300's but the car will not start anymore (flooded) and fuel is dripping from the dp/mp connection after attemps to start the car. I'm guessing this is not a good thing... The 1300's were new ones from SR motorsports. Is there a fix for this or am I SOL???

I do not smell fuel around the injectors but I think one is just dripping into the LIM. I have new plugs that I will install in the morning and go from there. Is there anything else I can do? The injectors are seated good and no fuel or fuel smell around the inside of the rail.

Oh and the PFC is set up for the 1300's too.

sounds like they or one is stuck open. if the rail is not leaking that is alot of fuel to make it out to the exhaust though. you sure the lines are not leaking

I am sure. I can see perfectly under the LIM because I blocked everything off and removed the rats nest when I went non-seq. There are no leaks around the rail and no fumes coming up either.

Is there a way to test to see if an injector is stuck open?

there is only one way to check, you have to pull the rail out, leave it connected to the fuel lines, and have someone turn the key on to energize the fuel pump. you watch the injectors, and see if gas pisses out.

I had a leaky injector problem, brand new injectors they were. I did the same test as I told you to do, only diff was, my leak was a small leak that would flood the car overnight. you could'nt see my leak, I had to stuff paper towels under each injector, and check back every hour or so. Sure enough, more time went by, more fule on the paper

Damn that sucks. I hope mine aren't leaking. I need to get it running because Steve Kan is tuning it Sunday. Looks like I might be going back to the 850's if one is leaking... Thanks!

turbovr6 03-04-2004 06:20 PM

oh... btw are your 1300's are in the stock rail ?

AgentSpeed 03-04-2004 06:36 PM

Yup, stock rail.

turbovr6 03-04-2004 06:50 PM

ok good you will have it easy, my rail held the injectors in only at the top, so I had to invent something to hold them in the rail while not bolted to the car

Nice Vanilla Ice pic by the way! Sad but I still have that CD from like middle school some 15 years ago or when ever he was first popular...lol

I'll be trying that tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!
