anyone done this?
im just looking for an estimated power increase over the stock manifold set up from someone whos had experience with these, or something similar. http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.p...products_id=117 http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_...roducts_id=149 http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.p...products_id=107 |
You can make stupid power with ITB's, but you also need a huge port to use them effectively.
If I ever build another NA it will be a 13B in an FD with ITB's and a Nasty Port. All you need to run them is a fuel computer, not a full stand alone, unless you use an FC ignition system. |
i using the apexi-PFC full stand alone. and im going with a half bridge port. oh and the turbo is a Precision T60-1. wich im now thinking of going bigger, but i hate lag. for now i already have that one.
im just wondering if the set up is worth the 1200 dollars. minus what i can sell the stock manifolds for with block off plates and the greddy elbow. if i'll only gain like 20-30 WHP, then i'll stick with stock... |
anyone have any pics of the entire setup...
|
go to tweakit.net
are the links not working??? |
The links work, but there are no pics installed on an RX-7.
It looks just like a Weber, or IDA set up carbed, but there is a rail and a few wires. You wouldn't want or need to use the Power FC on this kind of set up. A fuel only computer with a 12A dizzy would be reliable and easy to set up. |
to get full potenial of this set up. a stand alone would be best. and having a half bridge, larger injectors, single turbo and others.....stand alone is the only way to go.
i havnt seen this exact set up installed. but its pretty identical to any IDA/ITB set up on any 13b/12a set up. but what im really interested in is the power potential, and just how much potential is accually there... |
Not worth it for a turbo application. The ITBs can help to make more power in a normally aspirated situation if the rest of the intake manifold etc is properly designed and engineered.
|
No way is it worth $1200, don't bother with ITB's unless you're going n/a. The main advantage by far of itb's is the throttle response - completely pointless when you've a turbo.
Woops I should really read all the posts before I go and say something that's already been said! |
