What do you guys have for your front/V mount IC set ups? can you please post pics, i need to figure this **** out quick.
|
I haven't got one yet but there's a few around that i like. I'll post pics when I get home.
|
i got a v mount set up it works pretty good.

About 3-4 years ago I used to talk to a guy who ran a modified HKS 4-row IC for the MKIV Supra. From what I remember it was pricey to have done, but he swore by it.
|
You can find a ton of IC pictures on the photo search portion of my site...

Sorry I forgot to post some pics for you. Most of them i got off of here but they are the few that I like. Not sure who they belong too though.
[attachment=33047:attachment] [attachment=33048:attachment] [attachment=33049:attachment] The first one is my favourite. |
awesome. anyone else?
|
There was one over at the club that i quite liked. See if I can find it. Problem I have is that I want one that'll work with the twins, but I don't want to have to buy a new one if i go single.
|
I have a Greddy 4 Row (for MKIV Supra). It was on the car when I bought it. It's a FMIC set up and it's probably too big for a VMIC. This thing is FREAKIN' HUGE! The intercooler is about as wide as the two frame rails in the engine bay (counting the endtanks) and goes from the bottom edge of the stock bumper up to the bottom of the headlights. I have pics if anyone is interested.

in most kits the only difference is the intercooler piping most of the time its only the turbo side that needs new piping as well, well basically all of the time |
i did a vmic where the IC is on the bottom so the rad it kinda in the stock location. did it this way cuz: 1) wanted the alleviate the low hanging rad fans issue, 2) allow a bigger IC core (24x12x3.5), 3) allow the pipes to enter the endtanks not at 90 deg to the core, and 4) allow a custom vented undertray to enhance flow through the IC.
here's a rough pix of how it sits: http://www.encompass-tech.com/photogallery/FD/fd03.JPG Shot of front before IC/rad splitter: http://www.encompass-tech.com/photogallery/FD/fd19.JPG IC/Rad air splitter: http://www.encompass-tech.com/photog...C_Splitter.jpg Vented undertray: http://www.encompass-tech.com/photogallery...d_Undertray.jpg |

I do have a question though. How well does it flow. It seems as though everything is almost laying horzonitally, dosen't look like the radiator is getting much air forced through it? |
^ Wondering this as well, but that is one nice set up and your 7 looks fucken sweeeeeettttt!

It seems as though everything is almost laying horzonitally, dosen't look like the radiator is getting much air forced through it? car needs to be tuned b4 i can run it so no hard nor empirical data. but given that dictum of "path of least resistance" airflow show not be an issue whether the cores are flat or perpendicular to the flow. it should flow through the cores since the splitter will "trap" volume of air for the rad and IC individually. the venting under the the IC along with the air flowing under the car should draw it through and out the back of the car. the tray is slightly canted upwards towards the rear of the vehicle so I'm HOPING that it won't cause significant lift to upset the handling balance at high speeds. i'm pretty sure that the air will flow THROUGH both rad and IC and not back out the bumper mouth https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png so getting "enoguh" air shouldn't be a problem...fingers are tightly crossed tho. |
pics of the FB...lol
nice set up by the way. really liked the under tray. might try it out myself. |
crazy ass set up.....
|
i like that set-up as well....looks tight....its a nice way to use up the extra space https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

If thats ok? i thought i had pix loaded up on some of my hosting sites but, alas, i can't find any except this one: http://www.encompass-tech.com/photog...IMG_0060sm.JPG It was still early in the fab stage...i'll try to upload some later but my new cam is 8.2mpix and i'm too lazy to resize them....solly. O...another one...gotta love scotch tape. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png http://www.encompass-tech.com/photogallery...0Pipes%2001.jpg dammit...no thread edit. :( here are 2 vids that my friend took (i dont got no thick eastern euro accent...lol) of the car idling. it may show the piping layout a bit better...i think. Thats very nice. Your car sounds awesome. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

nice tires is that a track car? IMO you need to do something about the intake because when your fans are on its gonna blow all that hot air into your intake.
