After seeing all the nice cars at Rotorfest I want to change my set up.

As much as I like my car I got there and was way more impressed with alot of the other guys cars.

Anyone seeing my car at rotorfest have any suggestions other than the obvious "get a single turbo".

I am fairly sure that Im going to either get either a "V" mount IC like Scrub has ( very cool btw)

Or a front mount. The r1 wing is history, the front nose is going to get a make over. Something a little more current than the standard '93 eurothane. The interior is going to get some work as well. Considering a different set of rims already. The one thing that is definitely staying is the paint. Other than that it all open to suggestion if any one has any.

JaySpec7 07-01-2003 04:09 PM

cool.. can you scratch some IBM paint and send to me.. hehe https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

fritzfry 07-01-2003 04:21 PM

dude, i think you're car is great as is.

but i guess you're feelin' the need to change...how little rice?

have you seen issue # 17 of RX7 Magazine? How about ings+1 front bumper? not bad, though the lower lip might be a bit exaggerated. How about the mazdaspeed rear spoiler? it's body color ends with cf inserts..fritz likey! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif how about widebody? or if not, pan speed..i haven't really seen anybody over here with that front bumper and fenders.

anyways, your car looks awesome (oh, i said that already). https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

fritzfry 07-01-2003 04:22 PM

damnnn, jayspec7's car is the **** too!!

Turbo II 07-01-2003 04:24 PM

keep with that look and work on going single

vosko 07-01-2003 04:36 PM

well when i have money i am gonna get some stuff but running 10's is more important than looks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

rfreeman27 07-01-2003 05:21 PM

update the body. Stock 93 and IBM dont look great together. 99 spec would be sweet. Just my opinion

9BASE3 07-01-2003 05:29 PM

Dave, you have a sweet piece man. I think if you do ANYTHING, just go 99Spec. A FMIC looks nice with them, and they aren't too drastic. Maybe Apexi sides with the 99 front.

LEAVE THE FUGGIN WHEELS! No-one has them! I'm sure you got just as much envy from the other guys as they did from you. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

93 R1 07-01-2003 05:48 PM

Yeah leave the wheels. If you really want to turn heads get a widebody type kit. Sleek lights and a FMIC.

Thats my plans https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

JOLTnPEST 07-01-2003 06:43 PM

Joe Flo 07-01-2003 07:32 PM

I will stretch it out so I dont spend to much at once. Plus Im a wheelin and dealing mofo. I always get good deals. I am not sure about 99 spec. I already bought the 96 spec wing which is my favorite stock wing anyway so It might just be that wing I put on that car.

Im not sure about the 99 front. Originally I thought yes but the mouth is sorta small compared to some of the aftermarket ones. I was thinking Feed or Mazdaspeed GTC. Widebody definitely not for me. Maybe the recent rotary extreme feed side runner FEED replicas. Might go back to a stock hood.

Anyway here is the wing I have ..

I like it and it only cost me $40 plus shipping.

I have a spare hatch in my basement so either way I can always swap back.

OK and here is the stock 99 IBM stuff.

I like this but I wanted a bit more custom ya know.

This is the Mazdaspeed GTC car in IBM.

I dig that front end.

Fd3BOOST 07-01-2003 08:32 PM

Oh and what do you guys think of the japanese side turn signals that go on the fenders? That would be a cheap upgrade.

Fd3BOOST 07-01-2003 08:38 PM

This is Scrubs Vmount.

I think he did a hell of a job with his car.

FikseRxSeven 07-01-2003 08:46 PM

go for the v mount!!!!

JOLTnPEST 07-01-2003 08:48 PM

yea haha i was talkin about Scrubs Vmount.

sorry

Striker 07-01-2003 08:51 PM

yeah vmount with the side markers with the gtc. i love the gtc front. your wheels rock. feed side skirts look good. ever thought of a rear bumper? or are you not really a fan of that?

AgentSpeed 07-01-2003 09:04 PM

I like the V mount myself but it leaves the front open if you get a new front end. Tough choice FMIC or VMIC... Side markers are cool too. My girlfriend has a 2003 VW Jetta and you can get smoke side markers. Thinking about getting some that are smoke for my white FD.

Srce 07-02-2003 12:12 AM

Alright, DO NOT CHANGE THE RIMS. They have sooo grown on me. LOL

Get a different front end (GTC, or FEED Type 2), some stock Mazda Sideskirts and mold them in, and paint the rear little bar IBM (The one that goes above the exhaust. Than you'll be set!!!

FikseRxSeven 07-02-2003 12:34 AM

keep the hood, get the mazdaspeed front

twinturborx7pete 07-02-2003 01:27 AM

eh i'd just worry bout goin fast. The stock 93 RX-7 is still sweet looking today. I'll take pics.. its just, nice.

Dont' go ricen' up your car.. if you want a diff front end get the 99spec. They look good with FMIC and stuff. Just remember, you have to CUT THE **** outta any bumper you get to fit the FMIC. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR

I hear ya, But honestly im about as fast as I'm going get outta the stock twins. I should be pushin 360. I just got a nice tune up from my friends at PFS https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I already mentioned in my first post that I will try to hook up a single. I am shooting for a 35/40. As far as ricing. No I like most of the stock wings. I dont consider replacing a front end "ricing" And I changing IC's out,I dont mind cutting some to fit one. I had to completely refab the duct I have now to get it to fit over the M2 radiator anyway.

Dont worry man Im not going all ricer boy on ya.

I just want to get the car up to date. I have a early 90's looking Fd.

I want a 99-2000 looking one ya know https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Dave the car looks good why change? I would go with the 99 spec myself but hey the panspeed kit is sweet as well. We are going to need you to do some blinging of parts soon. My brothers has put his car away for the year. We have a street port( maybe half j bridge) lined up on a engine we have in the shop in pa. We are ordering the single turbo in august w/all the material needed (fmic, fuel system, etc). We have a set of seats on the way and major interior in progress. By the way I found the leak under the manifold. Thanks for all you help and if you need some parts pm I will see what I can do for ya.

Panspeed, there one I hadnt thought of yet.

Glad you found the leak, which hose was it?

Did you break anything getting the manifold off, did someone help you or did you tackle it alone?

rbrtech 07-02-2003 09:37 AM

I took it off very slowly with the razor blade. I show a pic there was more than one and non of them were tight. Though his ass fucked his car all up. There is coolant all over the place. Thats what caused me just to tear it apart. So then he decided to get everything all at once. Wish I had 8 or 9 g's just laying around but the work is going to be done.
