anyone care to enlighten me on how the stock ignition system opereates. im trying to see if i get spark at the coils, the trailing gets some, but the leading only get a small spark when the key is turned to "on" and nothing while it cranks.

also, can anyone tell me anything from these pics?

make sure that the ignition coils are grounded, wires are not dead. check your wheelwells for any freyes wires in the harness.... and a long shot....make sure your map sensor is working.

could it be possible for the wire connector that plugs from the harness to the coil not to be making good contact, hence no power to the coil even though theres power to the connector?

should i just order a new coil/ignition harness? from what ive read the new and improved harness eliminates the ground wire, which i still have.

The ground wire is a good thing, you definitely want to ground the bracket and the coil mounts.

I have the original harness here, with less than 40k miles on it. Let me know if you're interested.

Check connections to the "crank" angle sensors right by the pullies.

If you think your plug wires arent making good contact, take a pair of needle nose plyers and SLIGHTLY pinch the metal reciever in until they make a nice firm click when you incert a plug into the boot.

If your coil harness is dead, I have a full coil pack that I know is good...

seems like a wire round the igniter or the ecu plug is loose or broken cause i was pulling/tugging at both for a bit and it seems to be working....

thanks all
