hey whats up just got my fd about 3 weeks ago love it but i have one problem when the car idles after moving it will drop to at 100 rpms then go back to normal idle it has died on me once or twice but only when i have to a/c going please help

What rpm are you calling "normal"? Sounds like a dash pot gone bad or needing adjustment though to me.

normal around 800 i guess thats what is was idling at before i started having this problem

800 rpm is good.

The dash pot is on the front of the throttle body. It's a round plunger looking deal. It has a bolt oon the back with a rod that sticks out from that. That rod acts as a damper for the throttle release. It is there to keep the butterflies inside the throttle body from closing completely when you let off the gas. The air idle adujstment screw also helps with that but adujst the air idle screw will effect the rpm. The dash pot is only really in use right after you let off the throttle. You can loosen the nut on it and adujst it in more to see it it helps. So long as when throttle tab is released onto that white rod on the dash pot, the dash pot slowly retracts inward then it should be working.



I would tighted in the dash pot a few turns and test drive and see if you can work the stall out of the car. If nothing changes then the dash pot isn't your problem but it is certainly easy enough to check into that first.
