Ok guys. I'm having some more problems with my FD. After I changed the plugs and plug wires my car was still idling very strangely, so per the advice of a few others on here I went ahead and changed the vac lines for the map sensor and checked the one way check valve. After I reinstalled the hoses and reset the ECU the car wouldn't start. After some frustration I thought maybe some of my connections were messed up so I went ahead and pulled everything apart and did the Vac hose job. I'm still sequential. Checked and double checked all my wiring and connections and I have them all in order or so I think. So anyway I go to start my car.... It'll turn over but won't start. I checked for error codes and got none. What am I missing? Any ideas would be a great help.

What I plan on checking next are the check valve between the MAP sensor and the throttle body to make sure I have it in there the right way and I'll hook up my cd player again because for all I know the ECU may be looking for one before I start it, which I highly doubt but I don't know. Any other ideas?

The check valves and the cd player won't keep the car from starting.

Is there any chance you could've flooded the engine? Like, did you start it cold, and not let it fully warm up after changing your plugs? Does the car spin over seemingly faster than normal? If so then you need to unflood.

No I let it fully warm after changing the plugs and drove it for a while. I still had the rough idle so that's when I was advised to check the map sensor hoses. I thought it was flooded too so what I did was pull the two lead plugs, taped off the wires and turned the car over a couple of times for 10 seconds. Left the plugs out for 30 minutes to let things dry out a bit more and then I came back replaced them and same thing. The car turns over like normal but won't start. Now I've read you have to pull the circuit relay in some places but other places say you don't. If I don't pull it am I defeating the purpose?

I'm planning on checking for spark next as well since it seems strange to me. I am not getting an error code so judging by the service manual it shouldn't be my coils and I switched four of the five fuses on the positive battery lead. Am I possibly missing something stupid on my part. I'm just kind of at a loss here.

One thing about unflooding is that you should either pull the circuit opening relay, or you should floor the gas pedal while turning the engine over. I do both. If you do neither, then the injectors keep dumping in fuel. Pull out your plugs, and see if they're wet. If so, clean them off with a blow torch, and turn the engine over several times. Leave it for 30 minutes, and then repeat. Then come back in with the plugs and give it a shot.

ok I will give that a try.... as for checking for spark on all the wires what's the proper procedure.... I want to do that as well, but I don't want to do it incorrectly. Is there a write up I should refer to or is it just pull off a wire ground the plug and test it?

Just ground the plugs, and look for spark. Or you could just hold on to one of the wires while cranking it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Well thanks for all the help I pulled the trailing plugs last night and they were totally covered in gas and oil. Pulled the circuit opening relay and turned her over a few times. 5 times then a break and then I came back. After the 9th time there were no more vapors coming out, so tonight I'll check spark and replace the plugs. But I have a good feeling now. Thanks for all the help guys.
