I'm getting rid of my power steering rack, and I need to know which lines I need to cap off, and which lines to loop. It's hard to see it with the engine in place. Any pictures or info will be appreciated.

That little bit of weight savings won't be enough. Your days of being top FD in town are numbered pal https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif
Just give me one car length to start, and I'll leak enough oil that you'll never have a change. I think I have James Bond's FD https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
LMAO. I was never top FD in town. And If I get in front of you, my James Bond smoke screen will dominate all.
I'm really ditching it for the availability of room in the engine bay rather than weight savings. I looked in the shop manual, and it looks like all I need to do is either cap, or loop the two lines going to the pump. Does that sound right? |
i thought you already took it out? it seemed like it when you took me for a spin.. you were working the whell when we were going slow like a fat pig works his coffe and doughnuts..

I don't think you want to cap those lines. Take the two hoses off that go to the pump and turn the wheels side to side a couple of times to purge the fluid, then loop the lines together to keep dirt out.

Josh, I disabled the pump, but I haven't removed it yet.
My plan is to take the line going to the pump, cut one, and clamp it to the hard pipe for the other one, bypassing the cooler. |
