My 93 RX-7 is as stock as a rock with 71000k on the motor ive never owned a boosted rotor always had ported motors dont know where to start.. wat mods do i have to do to get round the 330-350rwhp mark with the twin turbo setup without spending big money...

when i first bought my FD it was pushin about 300 with this list of parts:
2x650 primaries 2x850 secondaries a'pexi power FC a'pexi gt fmic de-synchro'd twins a'pexi turbo inlet necks and filters racing beat exhaust |

Do a more aggressive tune with 15~ish psi should net 330-350rwhp. Turbos won't last a forever at that boost pressure however. |
I know it's not what you were getting at, but if you don't want to spend "big money", as in engine rebuild, you need supporting mods before turning up boost. Cooling is at the top of the list, even before fuel. I'd also consider a simple water injection kit.

what he said lol i forgot on my old setup i had a fluidyne radiator, but now i run a koyo radiator cause it's larger capacity

Thanks guys il sus it out

Downpipe, high flow cat (Midpipe might lead to boost control issues), stock primary injectors with 1200 secondaries, supra fuel pump, larger IC, open intake and PFC tuned to run the twins sequentially at 14 psi. Can't go wrong with that. Reliable 300 rwhp, and a fun power-band for the street (by keeping the twins sequential).

Mmmmm...do you need fuel mods for low 300 whp figures?
I haven't had mine dynoed yet, but even with stock ports I'd guess my car is close to 300 whp as it sits...Intake, efini 'Y', IC, DP, hi-flow cat, cat-back, sequential twins at 10 to 11 psi, all emissions and double-throttle deleted, PFC. Duty Cycle isn't over ~ 82% or 83% at WOT with (recently cleaned and flow-tested) stock injectors and stock fuel pump. Or am I over-optimistic...? |
With these mods I put down 312rwhp @ 15psi:
Apexi Power FC GReddy Profec B II 'Proper' Non-sequential 99 Y pipe Double throttle delete HKS RS Intakes GReddy SMIC HKS downpipe Catless midpipe (3") Custom SMB turndown (3") Rewired fuel pump Note: Duty cycle on stock injectors were getting pretty high up there, so fuel upgrades would be a good idea too. |
what is "proper" non-seq?
