i actually did search on this, and the only thread i found that was relevant was this:

http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.ph...hift+light+pill

but as you see, no one really had an answer as to which pills u'd use... so if anyone can help me out w/ this, id really appreciate it.

also any comments bout the autometer shift lite would b great...

its the pro shift lite on this web page..

http://procycle.autometer.com/2003_catalog...hiftlights.html

i know "Scrub" said defi makes one, but does anyone know bout this for sure? cuz i couldn't find it on their website, and i do know they make warning lights that u can mount on your A pillar along w/ some of their gauges...but do they make a stand-alone shift light?

thanx

So, what do you want to know?

Do they make a stand alone shift light, yes.

Do you need a seperate unit to run it, depends?

If your tach currently uses a shift light you can use that source to power yours. Or you'll need an RPM activated switch, and the proper pills for the RPM range you want it to activate at.

Outside that, I'm not sure what you're looking for.

But I'd be glad to help.

Could rig it with the redline buzzer somehow?

Do USDM FD's have buzzers?

special T

<<Do they make a stand alone shift light, yes.>>

were u referring to defi specifically? or shift lites in general?

if defi...u know how i could get ahold of one?

<<Or you'll need an RPM activated switch, and the proper pills for the RPM range you want it to activate at. >>

yea that's pretty much wut i need, cuz i dont have an aftermarket tach.

but wut would b the proper pills to get?

from wut ive read, the best shift point is rite around 7500 rpm, correct?

obviously, i wanna have it set for the optiumum shift point for when im really pushin it...

so i guess wut im lookin for is:

- who makes good stand alone shift lites...(and if defi makes one)

- wut pill(s) would i need?

thanx

I've never seen defi offer a shift light alone.

Although they would be nice since they are so shallow.

I'll check and see, but really doubt if they have one.

But I think Autometer is what your looking for.

Since they sell the shift light, the switch and the pills to all correspond with eachother.

The light is #5310

The switch is #5330

The pills #5357

The pills come in packs of 5 that give 200rpm increments, the pack there starts at 7000, and goes up to 7800.

You'd expect to pay $270CDN for all of this.

Hope that helps.
