I just replaced all my bushings front and rear with nylon 6/6 bushings from unobtainium motorsports and car still has a loose cluncking noise in the rear. Anyone know whats up with that? I've also got the M2 trailing arms and toe links, I"ve even replaced the rear diff bushings.

any suggestions?

Thanks

Kyle

check your hatch for rattles.

It's not the hatch, it's somthing from down below the car. as far as the pillow ball are you talkign about where the shocks and springs connect or what, i'm not real up on the suspension terms lol sorry.

But thanks

The pillow balls are the bushings that usually cause clunking in the rear (in my experience anyway).

They are located in the following places:

-middle AND outer lower rear control arm pivots

-outer upper rear control arm pivots.

It cost me $100 to get them pressed out and replaced. The replacement pillow balls run around $35 per pivot, are all the same, and available at malloy mazda and mazdatrix. There are pictures of them on the mazdatrix site under suspension components.

The bushings you replaced with the Labreck kit were probably fine. When I pulled mine they were no different than the new oem bushings I put in. It's mind boggling to me how many people have bought that kit expecting it to solve their clunking problems. There are definately other reasons to buy them but I have yet to hear of those pivots being the source of clunking noises.

I found them at Mazdaformance for 275 for six. Best deal I found.

Try Ray Crowe at malloy mazda. I believe they sell the the bushings for 35 each=210. Ray is flawless. I have been ordering parts from him for years and he has ALWAYS given me the best price, ALWAYS get the order right and, most importantly, everything has ALWAYS WITHOUT EXCEPTION arrived on time. I have heard good things about mazdaformance but have never ordered anything from them.

I believe this is the part number you need: #26-230
