Pleas help me if you can:

I have a '94 fd automatic. I was driving down the highway doing about 65mph. I punched the gas to pass a car and something happened. I have no boost and no acceleration. I got off the highway and it died when i ccame to a complete stop. My gas guage was at about and 1/8 tank. Could I be out of gas? Could this maybe be a fuel filter? I do not believe its a spark issue cause the car will turn over start, idle rough (like its not getting gas) and then die.

any help would greatly be apreciated!

Thanks,

Cody

Sounds to me like you may have flooded it.

I couldn't tell you why it would just cut out on you.

But you know the drill, replace the plugs change the fuel filter clean it up and give it a go.

Try starting it without pumping on the gas.

Refer to here for starting a flooded car instruction.

hope that helps a little.

Ok,

I started investigating the problem. i pulled off all of the intercooler piping, intake elbow and air intake. I found alot alot of unburned fuel in the i/c pipes and my spark plugs where black and covered in gas. Aslo removed the uim and did not find any bad/craked vaccum hoses. Is the black plugs causing the unburned fuel to recirculate throught the intercooler? Can fouled plugs be the cause of what i posted above? Also, if someone know, is there a website i can go to to give me all of the standard amp draws on all the electrical connectors?

Thanks (In Advance)

Download a workshop manual from iluvmyrx7.com

If those ones dont have the electrical info let me know and I can zip it and email it to you.

Yes your plugs can foul from that. For some reason it seems that you lost spark. Then the injectors kept dumping fuel into the block.

It could be a bunch of things. Make sure the grounds on your ecu are good. Check the coils, wires etc.

Another thought.. Did you recently add an ecu or fuel controller?

Thanks Boost,

No the car is completely stock except for a air intake. Is there anything i can get to check the coils........the plug wires are brand new, well about a month old.

black plugs indicate rich condition...

white plugs indicate lean condition....
