I have been lurking for months now reading post after post on upgrades and such. After alll I have read about reliability mods and problem with this and problem with that I have one quetion to all of you serious RX7 owners:

Has owning an RX7 been worth it? I mean really worth it. If you could have done it all over again would you still go with the same car or would you have teaken a different route with another car?

I am seriosly conidering getting an RX7 from LA Motorcars in Richardson, TX. I have heard people say that you should have a second car if you own a 7. Hell, even the guy selling me the car says its a good idea as well. I happen to own another car that is paid off so that is not an issue.

I am above average in mechanical and electrical knowledge and can do the work myself. I just need to know if it was worth it to all of you who one and drive your 7 on a daily basis.

You're ******* right it's worth it. The only other car I would drive is a barely 18 year old redhead with 34C tits and a nice round ass.. Wait... Nevermind

YES. Well worth it.

yes. I fuckign live my car.

another good thing is my car already has the lickname "the BJ mobile"

It has been a great car for me.

it is the most fun car that i have driven and i love it, you get your bad times with it more than you want, but nonetheless, very well worth it

It certainly takes a bit of a fanatic to want to own a 3rd gen.

They require a tremdious amount of patience at times.

But like Justin and Bobby said. I wouldn't trade my third gen for the word.

Once you drive a healthy 3rd gen your ruined for life because nothing will live up to a Fd.

i have owned all sorts of rotary powered cars (not just rx7's) and i would say YES. it is worth it. if you can reach down and do a ball check and they are there.... you will be ok. if you bitch and moan like a woman, maybe get a minivan and a box of tampax. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Well put.

I'm looking at putting more money into mine in the next few months than I paid for the car and I'm still happy I bought it. I've never driven a car so fun!

Well, it sure seems there is a general concensus about the car. I guess I can assume then that most of you have driven your cars more than you have fixed them?

The car I am looking at is a 93 R1 with 90k on the chassis and an engine replace by Rotary Performance. 16K is the tag on it and comes with a 3/36 warranty. Pretty good deal IMO.

Assuming that all is well mechanically with the car, what dollar amount can I expect to spend on reliability mods to make it the bulletproof beast that all of you drive?

Also, what do you guys think of the price for the one I am looking at?

Price all depends...

There are parts you can get used; you can find group buys; sometimes there are sales... But I think about 1K will get it reliable.

Radiator

Downpipe

New coolant hoses

Aluminum AST

You'll go crazy like the rest of us... Before you know it you'll want an ECU, a big ass intercooler, suspension...

Oh the price seems about right for the car you're looking at. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
