well, no pics yet... I'm developing a method to be able to retain the bars (hinges) that the rear deck lid clips to. I've got the redesign (to make it as light as possible), but it won't look pretty yet. I may finish the top with an aluminum cover plate (no structural, just for a clean look).

hopefully I'll have time this afternoon to measure and cut some more pieces.. I'd like to get this to the welder this week.

Okay, I got my harnesses in yesterday, Sparco 3-point double release, and I made a little revision to the brace...

My previous calculations were based on the amount of steel contained in a roll bar that a harness would attach to. The same amounts of steel that are required to support a vehicle flipping and crunching it's roof. I've decided that having 1" box tube, reinforced with a 3/4" steel bar was overkill. Not only was it way too much steel, it was also nearly impossible to build. I reduced the structure to a 1" box bar. when secured with Grade 8 hardware, it will be more than sufficient.

So the new brace is all cut, drilled (I love drill presses) and 1st coat painted. I will post pictures later of the progress. All that is left to do is to wet-sand the base coat and respray it. Then I need to let it dry for 48 hours and it should be good to go!
