I jut put in a rebuilt engine in a 93 and i'll having a hell of a time starting it up.

1 I primed the oil system diconnected the ignition and EGI fuse to the injectors. turned her over a few times

2 plugged everything back in and tried starting her up. i've done a few rebuilts on third gen before and know that it takes a few turn to clear out of the accembly oils and lubs.

3 No luck some smoke but sounds like she just doen't want to go (so she is getting spark)

4 probably flooded. take out the trail plugs turn off the EGI and ignition turn her over. what do you know

wet plugs and a puff of gasoline vapor. Turned her over a few more times and got it all out. plugged her back in and then started her up.........but No go agian she sounded good but flooded again....i know i know

i should have put a little oil in each hole waited about 30- 40 minutes and then did it.......

5 so i do that . I took out the plugs WET AGAIN what a surprise.......cleaned her out with a few turns

put some oil in waited.............turned her over but nope............HMMMMMMM

6 i get spark

7 i get fuel and no fuel leaks that i can find

8......Compress???? not sure cold test really don't say much (i have a feeling that it's good to but i'll check monday)

9......NO error codes

10... i'm stuck

When I turn her over she sounds like she is not catching just right, and then she floods

anyone please a suggetion

Maybe......on the E-shaft I put the timing ring/pully on the wrong way but i'm thinking that it only goes only one way. It would explain timing maybe being off https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

take all the plugs out, crank the motor over until it is "clear", clean the plugs and put them back in

1) Make sure you have a strong battery. I use one of those dinky ones so I cabled up a second large battery for my first few starts to make sure I had nice strong spark.

2) How long has the car been sitting? Had a case recently with a car that sat 6 - 7 months and the gas went bad. Pumped out old gas, put in new and it started right up.

Believe it or not, this is true. After about 3 months gas loses a lot of its punch. Good idea. Tom

I agree with the other two. Sounds like your gas may have lost it's fizz.

I can't see why else you would be having problems.

i never thought about the gas thing!

Don't forget the basics. All you need is Fuel, compression and spark for the engine to kick over.. check in order. It looks like your getting fuel(your plugs wet) check spark, then compression..
