Ok I just recently started having this problem: After my car is warmed up it is hard to get it started. Sometimes it will just turn over and over until it FINALLY cranks. I've had similar problems on other cars from a bad fuel pump fuse to a weak starter but I thought I'd ask to see if someone has had the same problem and could help me narrow the search. (Most of the time I have to give it some gas to aid in starting)

more info please

sounds like ( ) when it happens?

have you ever flooded?

sometimes or always happens?

is it getting worse?

did it just start up out of the blue?

where do you live?

how many miles on you car?

do you think you starter is good?

what about you battery?

have you made any grounding upgrades at all?

It just acts like it is about to start but doesn't. Just keeps turning over and over...

(I've had the car for about four months now)

Never flooded since I've had it.

Does it 75% of the time after it's warmed up.

Not getting worse, about the same.

Just started out of the blue about a month ago.

I live in Chattanooga, TN (South east TN).

Not sure on the starter ~ 85K miles on the car, might be time to change it...

Battery looks new...

No ground upgrades, haven't had any 3K rpm probs either. Might need to upgrade the grouds just to be safe...

Hope this helps...

Thanks!

Have the compression checked.

if yours is like mine, they don't like short trips even when warm. whenever i park, i always let it idle for at least a minute or two (sometimes more when i've pushed it a bit) before turning it off and it seems to start up better later. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

I have a turbo timer but usually just don't get on it for the last couple of miles and then let the turbo timer stay on for 30sec. I'll set it for a little longer and see if that helps. Thanks!

Compression test??? I hope it's not that time already...

I would agree with the compression check- my S5 did this just before blowing. Better to catch it now before it destroys your motor.

Or it could be something else, but at least check this first to get it outta the way!

when I blew my first engine, it was exactly like that. Started right up on a cold motor, but as soon as I drove it somewhere, it would start up real slowly, or take forever to start up. If I had gotten a compression test, I would have know from the beginning, but I didn't. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

That's not good news... But I'll get it checked just to be on the safe side. Thanks!!!
