I just installed my B&M and it's the best thing I HAVE EVER DONE!!!! Drives like a fuggin Ferarri! Gears are like SO CLOSE!!!! If you don't have it, GET IT!!!

i put it on a year ago when i still had the car. i got one of the first b&m's....

i just bought a B&M short shifter about 2 weeks ago. I didn't like it at first, but I got used to it real quick and now it's the Shizzy Nizzy!. I have the B&M too. It's good out of the box, but what I did was cut about an inch off it, and added a really heavy sparco shift knob(ball style). Now we're talking short positive shifts baby https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png:)

I put a razo 400g on my short shifter...Heavy and short throw...I LOVE it now. B)

i have a greddy weighted knob for my FD but i gave it to my friend. he ordered me a new one. it better come here soon. atleast he is giving me $10 for letting him the knob since he is impatient https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

my friend had the mazdaspeed cut down about 1/2" and a voodoo knob, it was great when you were beating on it

how hard is it to install the short shifter. my car is " still " in the damn shop, it's been almost 3 months.... i want to get one, but want to know the steps to installing it???

some of them. the mazdaspeed replaces the stock lever only, its a 20 minute deal. the b&m replaces the entire shifter tower its a longer install

I have one in my S-10 w/ 400g knob but I bought it from private party.

Id love to get one for the FC, would local parts house carry? or special order?

B&M doesn't make one for FC's yet, gotta get mazdatrix or c's

Lot of people wear their syncros because of the shifting charterists of the rx-7s

But you have to remember that the rx-7 was design to be driven on the right side so when you throw it into 5th gear you are pulling the shifter to you instead of away having more control and stronger shift. the short shifter are a syncros savior and I would recommend you getting one.

i never really had a problem with my fd, but when i beat on some of my other cars (miata, gsl-se) i have done the 1-2-5 shift. no of the other cars break synchro's though
