i have a gas leak and i believe it is the pulsation damper.. i looked under the intake manifold and saw some fluid under the back side of the fuel rail. i swabed the fluid and it is indeed gas.. now, is the pulsation damper on that side of the ruel rail..closest to the fire wall, or am in the wrong place? if im right, how hard is it to remove the intake manifold? any help would be awsome!! thanks, joshua

The pulsation damper is plastic and can crack and leak. I think some people even take it off and blank the vac pipe and orifice.
To get at it, you need to take the UIM off which requires small hands (or big hands with no knuckles). Takes about 30 minutes or so, lots of pipes, electrical connectors etc to take off. To see the sequence, look at the manual (at here! if you don't have it). Could also be a fuel pipe down that way. One of my rubber pipes leaked there and caused an engine bay fire (although thankfully not too bad!) |
I have the dampner if you need it. Pm me and make me an offer.

fix it! your engine will eventually catch on fire. you can go with a regulator but the leak has to be stopped.
