I change my plugs every 10k miles, my oil every 3k. The cars battery tested fine. Doesnt eat coolant. Doesnt eat abnormal amounts of oil. Doesnt have problems warm/cold starting. The car is...perfect. It feels like a monster when I romp it. But almost every time I come to a stop my idle drops into the 500s and sits there and tries to recover, but fails to over and over. If I blip the throttle it'll usually make the idle settle back out to 900rpms (what its supposed to be). Sometimes it takes me blipping the throttle 3 times, sometimes once, sometimes it just goes to 900rpms right away (although that is rare). I replaced my coil packs a couple months back when it first started doing this thinking that was my problem. It wasnt. Ive just lived with it since then and plan to replace the drivers side wiring harness this coming month, but I figured id ask to see what you guys say first.



So? What do you think? What confuses me the most is that I can make the idle settle and hold a perfect 900rpms if I just blip the throttle. What i dont understand is why I have to blip the throttle to correct the idle.

Your car sounds like it runs perfectly, but, as with all older cars- you possibly have a vacuum leak or a sensor failure. Your idle problem could be a million things, but it sounds to me like a vacuum issue. Remember that your ride is 11, almost 12 years old. Tinker with one two minor things at a time- you'll find the problem.

Im non-sequential. Ive checked all my vaccuum lines. Everything is hooked up. Replaced my TPS sensor also and recalibrated it. Doesnt help. Its so hard to fix while Im idling. If I just let it sit there it'll bounce real low for a little bit then fix itself. Its so strange. If it was a vaccuum leak wouldnt it not go away at all? Maybe a bad check valve? Could it be electircal? Possibly something to my ignition is grounding out in the harness. That side of my harness is in bad shape.

If you know the harness is in bad shape, I'd make fixing that a priority. If its not you can move on and know for a fact that the harness isn't a problem. Might save you some time and money.
