Ok getting a fuel smell.. car is stock.

Seems to happen after boost runs, after driving... doesn't usually smell after idle.

Think its either the Fuel Pulsation Dampener or the Purge Control Valve.

What do you guys think? Everything else seems to be ok...

jspecracer7 11-26-2003 01:02 AM

Could be either or...only way to really check is to pull the UIM off and check.

qwester007 11-26-2003 01:23 AM

Car is stock right? Have you had the fuel line recall performed?

twinturborx7pete 11-26-2003 12:15 PM

recall was performed, its the FPD, can now hear the gasoline gurgling under the UIM. Ordered one today from Mazdacomp. 81.20$ Putting it in on Saturday.

Why did you sell the beast and get another one??? Maybe I missed the memo but from the pics, it looked nice.

check injector seating..

could also be from a bad lim gasket..

twinturborx7pete 11-26-2003 09:38 PM

nah LIM is metal, and fine, its the FPD... its definite..heh

Yah i sold my beast, used the cash from it to pay off all my credit debt and such... and got this one.. so now i don't have any debt.. and i'm loving it.

Had to see my baby go, but i'll start anew.. this time, no credit cards!!!!

twinturborx7pete 11-30-2003 01:17 AM

thing is kicking my ass... forgot what a bitch it was to work on a stock RX-7. Getting to the fuel rails are a bitch.

Pretty sure i have to pull the Rats Nest and ACV to begin to get to the rails...

BigTurbo74 11-30-2003 03:38 AM

can someone please explain to me why people don't just eliminate that damn thing? i mean APPARENTLY it's rough on the injectors, but what exactly are we looking at in terms of pros and cons??
