hey just got a 92 fd3s inported from japan. its got an apexi avc-r boost controller, blow off valve tein suspension and a dual lsd, its got 70000kms on the stock engine. the problem is when im driving, the fuel (not positive but thats what if feels like) shuts off when you hit a certain rpm. i have absolutly no throddle response at all. after about 2 seconds when my rpms go back down i get the throttle back till i hit that rpm again. it doesnt matter how much im accelerating or decelerating it will always do it. it does it at about 4500 rpm in second gear and it does it at about 3000 and 4000 in gears 3-5. does anyone out there no the solution to this problem?

Are you sure you don't have a Midpipe, or Downpipe?

The ECU will usually do Fuel cut when your over boosting to prevent a lean engine. Its a good thing, cause you could have a blown engine by now. I would be cautious though, the ECU may not key in at the exact time you over boost, and you may run lean for a split second, which can/could weaken your apex seals.

I would get a New fuel pump and a Apexi Power FC. Go for a run again in your car, and keep close attention to the boost gauge (assuming you have one) and see if it goes over 10PSI when the fuel cut happens.

hope this helps somewhat,

hey thanks for your post. im not sure if i have a midpipe or downpipe... what would haveing those do? as for the boost, i watched the guage on my apex unit and im only running about 5 psi and it doesnt start to spike before the fuel shuts off. the fuel also shuts off if i have very little throttle and very little boost. do you still think it would be a good idea to get a fuel pump and an apexi power fc?
