Hello!

I never thought I wld be looking into one of these but a buddy of mine who is part owner of a well known Porsche shop was shocked at how small my stock IC was and has me all paranoid about it now. :o

I came close to buying a SMIC a few times but luckily it never happened, I havent read up on any FMIC threads in the past so Im hoping some of you wld give me ur personal opinions on which unit to buy and why?

TIA!

If you're looking for a kit then both the Apex and Greddy cores are good. The Williams IC is good, and it doesn't require relocating the radiator.

Go with the apexi kit. It's a good price, and the easiest to install. You don't have to hack up the car to make it fit. I love mine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I would get the Apex over the Greddy, but it seems that everybody wants to show off their intercooler nowadays. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

both are nice i'd recommend the apexi if your gonna install it yourself. you actually get the correct pipes too rather than greddy https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Thnx ALOT guys!

Im noticing some of these FMIC's are advertised 'for single turbo conversion'. Whats that all about? Or is it just the piping configuration that comes with that particular unit?

I never heard of this Williams unit till tonight I checked out the site and it does look pretty cool and simple since nothing has to be moved. I LOVE working on my own toys so Im definitely leaning towards doin it myself. How much work is involved in these other FMIC's? i.e. Apexi,Blitz and Greddy units?

Also some current mods that may affect the install are:

Efini Ypipe

M2 CAI

If we're only talking about $100-200 more for an equilevant in quality IC (Williams unit) but loads easier to install Im thinking its worth the extra $$$. Yes or no?

the apexi is EASY ask turbovr6.

blitz i don't know

greddy take forever and require lots of trimming fitting etc :(

i think greddy says it only takes 10 hrs to install the 3row intercooler i got........

I don't know about the apex one, but i have the 2 row greddy from rotormotorsports and I didn't have to hack my car (but i do have a fg front bumper so i don't have a rebar to mess with). The pipes that came with it fit fine.

my 3row was missing an intercooler pipe which will be here today after being MIA for 2months https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
