what do you think of the way im running my piping....i have it all cut up minus the piping to run into the intercooler....wanted some critisicm before i finish up



its just mocked up there. held on with rubber bands and stuff. lol...it will look better after its completed.

mine and teknics setup is quite similar looks good man keep up the good work i would try putting les extreme bend though maybe instead of the pipe going strait down the strait out to the ic try making it run diagonal towards the ic there will be less air turbulence

whoa dude thats a LOT of intercooler piping... more ic piping = turbo lag

yea too much piping and too many serious bends.



pressure drop, turbo lag, bla bla all are possible results. you want the shortest, smoothest curving piping possible. 90's should only be used when extremely necessary, 45's are preferred.



You have 2 90's on each side so far, then you're going to need about a 135 degree bend on each side to connect it properly to the IC. so thats about 315 degrees of bends in the piping and connectors per side, never mind the greddy elbow itself being a tad mroe then a 90 degree bend. so thats over 630 degrees worth of bends altogether. and probably like 7 feet of piping.



to compare my setup has a on one side 2 45's and under a foot of tubing (turbo has a 90 welded on, so technically 180 altogether), the other side will have 2 45's and a modified greddy elbow to about a 45 degree angle and a little under 3 feet of tubing (i think it was more like 2 feet). So that side is 135 with 2-3 ft. altogether that's 315 degress of bends in about 3-4 ft of tubing....thats like one SIDE of yours https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif



Thats why most people run similar looking piping setups...theres only so much you can do.



I cheated tho, my turbo is clocked 180 degrees and my I/C has it's inlets/outlets pointed into the engine bay (therefore removing a HUGE curving pipe that most people use)

Basically with more piping and inefficient I/C's etc it cause the turbo to work a lot harder then it should to produce what it produces. Say the turbo is spinning fast and hard enough to be pushing out so much volume of air at say 15psi...by the time that air gets through all those bends, the ic, and the piping and finally gets into the TB it'll most likely lose some pressure, im not gonna guess how much but it will lose some. Thats why you want the least restrictive and shortest piping possible, less distance the air travels the more pressure and velocity it maintains. Thats why V-Mounts have become popular, the piping is like 2 feet and almost no bends...the vmount problem is making proper ducting https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif.



Also, will it work? Yes. Will the parts of the car be performing at their maximum abilities/efficiencies? No. Will you notice it? Meh you might not notice it...but having a few extra rpm's, a cooler turbo, etc etc is something i think wed all like.

i think im gonna try and ged rid of some of these bends.....and if i do, i'll post some pics up. but i do kinda like this set-up :(
