I finally got my FEED torque brace working properly with the ABS still installed. It took a lot of time and a few trips to the store but I got it sorted out.

Now, unfortunately for me, I bought mine a week before the whole group buy started which left me $50 out. (I know, you're all crying a river for me). So, if everyone here, being a community after all would like to donate $2.50 from their brace purchase to me that would cover the extra $50 I had to pay ;( I would really appreciate it. Consider it thanks for my hard work in finding a way to fit this thing on our cars.

Send payments to: palejewei@aol.com

And email me for pics of the brace setup.

I also made a small improvement. I managed to design- in an on-the-fly adjustment for moving more preload to and from the driver's side engine mount. For those you want to load it all the way up, or for those who want a more mile preload. Simple turn of a wrench.

SPOautos 11-20-2002 11:31 AM

Well, I think I'm fixing to get one and if it'll save me 3-4 trips to HD and a bunch of bull **** I dont mind giving you $2.50 for some pics and a decent write up including a Home Depot shopping list to make it work right.

BTW - the way you did your is it going straight across or is it at a angle like some of the others I've seen???

sounds good....patience daniel son https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR

It is almost straight across. It reduces the angle greatly from what I've seen other do so that it is maybe 15-20degrees off of parallel vs. the 40-45 I've seen on other cars. The biggest advantage of doing it this way is it allows you to add or reduce the preload on the driver's side engine mount.

SPOautos, I'd be glad to make a full Home Depot shopping list. Once you know what you're getting (no trial and error) it'll probably cost you about $1.05. :-D

apexkw 11-20-2002 01:56 PM

hmm sounds good. can you email me some pics. apexkw@hotmail.com

That's actually the first thing I've got to do is procure a dig camera so I can take some detailed photos of it.

9BASE3 12-03-2002 10:43 AM

Man. I'm pissed. I bought one from a forum member RIGHT before the group buy. (Awesome transaction VancouverRx7!!) But I didn't like it. It was a nice peice but Just a bit off.... Seemed the bar was a hair short (Couldn't load as much as desired without being REALLY close to the last threads on the other side...)

I brought the mounting bracket away from the firewall a bit with some washers... But it looked ghetto.

Dammit. I might try to fab another bracket that allows for a little more adjustment.

LostTime, how much $$$ for the instructions AND parts?

Lost Time 12-05-2002 05:08 PM

$2.50 It's just for the instructions. The parts will cost you about a dollar or two at the local hardware store. Go back to the first post and read why. I'm not being a greedy bastard I'm just trying to break even with everyone else.

No, dude.

I thought you mentioned in the GB post that:

If you like, I can gather the parts for you so you don't have to wander the aisles of Home Depot.... or some ****.

Just wondering if that's a real offer?

I'm aware of the $2.50x20 peeps so you get your money back and all...... Hell, if I can't finger it out myself, I'll be sending you the $$ anyhow.

Lost Time 12-06-2002 09:29 AM

I was just saying if people didn't want to waste their time at Home Depot they could just send me the extra couple bucks for the parts and I'd be willing to save them the hassle. It seems like I'm at Home Depot about every day anyway. I have no problem picking up the parts for anyone who doesn't have the time to do it themselves, and I can just mail them to you.
