well here is my delema, ok about 3weeks ago my fd was running fine then i changed the oil. i had perviously been running 20w 50 and i switched to 10w 40 cause my i thought my oil pressure was to high. well while driving i noticed the temp needle go above the normal halfway mark and immeditly pulled over and shut down the engine. the antifreeze lvl was normal. so i decided that maybe it was the oil so i went back to 20w50 well it is still doing it. oh and the car is bone stock.

any help would be great.

How long have you had the car? With the temperatures starting to climb with summer arriving, it's probably that the anemic cooling system on the FD just isn't suffecient... Do you have the factory front undernose panel still installed? Is the foam sealant still installed around the radiator?

you might need to re"rod"your stock rad as well, too much junk caught in it. or just get a koyo

You need to check everything on the coolant side of the matter.



IF your car is fully stock, and doing this, there's something malfunctioning. The FD doesn't simply run that hot on it's own.



My FD is essentially stock, and even while stuck in traffic, driving her home for the first time, on a 90 degree NE (=HUMID) day...the stock temp guage didn't go above mid-way.



A bigger radiator and a fan switch will help keep the temps down, but your coolant system can't afford to have anything in the system (Coolant, air passages, radiator, fans, etc) NOT doing it's job.



When you turn on the AC and to the power of 3, do both fans come on? They should...

it doES get pretty hot in there under the hood...

im telling ya, just get a new rad. I bet yours is stock from 13 years ago still huh ?

It does sound like your fans might not be coming on. I guess you could check if your fans are working(without risking overheating again) by just turning on the AC while the car is idling.

Checking your radiator, or blowing it out couldn't hurt either.

ok the fans work fine cause when i shut it down they stay on and on the new rad issue im not trying to cut and trim to make a new one fit so anyone know one of one that is worth a damn that goes in the same spot as the old with no mods. and i can hear the coolant boilling when i open the hood after it gets hott
