OK I have a hole in my overflow tank that I need t fix and I am about to replace all the coolant hoses. I was wondering if there was a thermostat to replace?

the thermostat is under the filler neck. 3 10mm bolts. Just remember you HAVE to run a 'stat...if not, you'll find you have cooling issues.
|
Nah there is a barometer. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

Can you see it if you take the cap off the filler neck?
|
No you have to take off the thermostat cover. Should be 3 10mm bolts. The whole cover along with the filler neck comes off.

OK sounds good. How much is the thermostat? I priced one at $14 so far. What about the prices of the upper and lower Rad. hoses?

I haven't had a chance to replace it yet and I have to patch a hole or crack in my overflow tank today. This sucks. I got soooo worried when it started to over heat. For those of you that have waited at a California stop light you know how long that is. I got caught up at like 3 of them in morning traffic. I need to go to work now so I am going to add coolant and freak out if it over heats again. I hate to do this but this is my only transportation.

You're better off pouring distilled water in rather than antifreeze. Water is a better coolant.
Tap water will work fine until you can flush the radiator. |
About $10 for thermostat from localautoparts store. I also found they carry a 180 degree miata thermostat that I am going to try. Coolant hoses are about $40-$50. Make sure you use distilled water and don'trun more than 80% water. You need some coolant to prevent corrosion.
