Sounds good to me. Turn the car on and move the commander so you can see it from the engine bay. Take a hammer and hit the engine lift point(the one closest to the alternator). The knock should go over 70, and probably be closer to 100 or more. I personanlly don't take to much stock in the knock reading, but mine goes over 100 on a free rev.

what are the sympthoms of bad knock sensor? Other than the check engine light, how would the engine perform? Boost hesitations or anything like that?

Well I know when I still had the stock ECU the wiring for my knock sensor went bad and made the ecu think that the engine was having knock and my symptoms where as fallows. Check engine light would come on; boost would drop to about 5psi. Thats all that would happen.
