Ok.. so i wanted to do the fan mod to my car.. i followed the way to do it posted on here in the FAQ section.. My thing here is.. My fans wont kick on, unless the a/c is on. I grounded the one black wire, and left them on for two mins. turned the car off, and nothing, the key had to be in the "ON" position for the fans to turn. They wont turn on the "ACC" position. I tried doing that 2 mins on, then turn the car off and leave them on for 30sec. but it dont work. i tried it like 5 times.. So the fans dont work when the car is off, and they only work when the a/c is in the ON position... so what can i do, or what can the problem be? i hooked a switch up to the wire, and they turn on when the a/c is off, with the switch on, BUT as soon as the switch is turned off, they stop spinning, even after trying the 2min, 30sec thing like i did 5 times b4. So yeah, can someone help me!? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

sounds like u wired something wrong... does the switch have power even when the car is off? does the switch allow current when its not on? u have something wired wrong.

no no.. i didnt mess with anything. If i turn the a/c off, and ground the wire, they kick on.. BUT only if the car is in the "ON" key position.

Radiator shops carry a thermostat that can be wired to allow your fans to run until the water temp in the radiator drops to an adjustable temp. The configuration will need to be rewired to allow this to occur.

The thermostat interrupts the circuit from the constant power source ie;battery, so no switch needed, the fans come on and off as the wired in thermostat dictates.

Get the recalls done. That seems to be (or at least sound like) the problem.

i already drilled a hole and placed a switch in my center cosole for the fan switch, so i think imma go ahead and keep this method, besides IMO i think its better this way, cause i choose when it should flip on https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
