I am planning on doing the auto 2 manual swap and was wondering if I can use my stock exhaust I have for my auto on the manual after I do the swap? I know mazda lists 2 different ones.

First are you talking about complete exhaust system or just catback? What parts are different by Mazda??

If its cat back, I don't see any difference.

Well I know when I want to buy an exhaust online mazda listed one for the auto and manual. But yes I'm talking about the cat-back, I wouldn't why there would be a difference either. I also have heard you need a different down pipe for the auto, has anyone heard about this?

DP.. maybe.. Since the bell housing and tranny is slightly different from Auto to manual.. But I don't see why? I'm pretty sure (not personal experience) you could put aftermarket Dps on to auto fd....

But in your situation, you want to go from auto to manual.. And in that direction, you shouldn't have any issues... as manual tranny is smaller. Hence clearance increases.

I wouldn't worry about your auto exhaust system working with your manual swap.. Also, if you have stock DP, it might be time for you to change that with manual swap.

Actually I do have an aftermarket pipe right now, it was put on before I bought the car so I wasn't sure if I could use it when I swap to manual. So you think I might be able to use the same dp since there is more clearance with the manual?

Correct.

I personally don't think you'll have any issues... as auto tranny is slightly bigger than manual.. hence when you go manual, you'll have more space available.
