Hi guys,

I was just driving my car yesterday and it was running fine... suddenly the exhaust started making more sound and that too very heretic.... the car stopped idling properly in fact if i took my foot of the accelerator below 1500 rpms the car would stall.. so i just got some gas and came home... the car was making boost but not the power a lot of hesitation and wierd exhaust sound. ... so i parked it and took a look at the exhaust it seemed like there were ambers in there it was red hot and it kept that way for a good 7-8 mins... i checked the engine bay it was not that hot same as it usually is... the car did not heat up... what could the problem be??? a choked exhuast?? ooh i am using a cat off of another car not an rx-7 could it be that it has broken and is making a restriction??

please help

Thanks

Please some response... Also forgot to mention my exhaust is as white as milk... so the car is lean too... is it the MAP sensor???

Some feedback please

err.. white exhaust is indication of a coolant related problem. Check your plugs and see what condition they're in

Seems to me a restriction would keep heat near the engine bay and cause the turbos not to spool.. so based on my fuzzy logic I don't think it's a restriction. Anyone else concur/disagree?

When is the last ime you ran it on the highway? A good way to clear your exhaust alot is to take like a 30 min drive on the highway and that should clear things out. I would say that the embers might be the cat. You could take the cat off and hollow it out and see what happens.
