this exhaust on ebay it looks good however you guys know best.. what the best sounding exhaust to use on a streetported 13b with no cat.. im just looking for a muffler that isnt crazy loud, but still sounds good and can give me a few extra HP in the tuning.?? what you guys think?

RotaryVillain 02-19-2007 09:53 AM

i dunno , i think most people who have bought ebay exhausts say they sound terrible , dont fit right, or both https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

it sounds like you may want something like the Racing Beat exhaust

Me personally i'm running a Greddy TItanium exhaust but that may be a little loud for what you want thought I like it and its super light (9 lbs for the entire catback)

Maybe I should just make my own custom exhaust with a magnaflow muffler 3.5" all the way from the downpipe!!

my 5zigen gave me some nice power. and sounds great. quiet and real deap. people always look past 5zigen. but they have some real nice products...

For some reason that exhaust looks like the tip will rust off in a matter of weeks. I am running the HKS Silent High Power on my 2G. Great fit and I am also running an HKS DP to a test-pipe which connects everything together for me. Have not heard it on the FC yet but I have on an sr20 powered 240sx. Sounds pretty good on it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

looks like the same as the racing beat single tip and the M2 single tip. seems like theres a lot of room in that muffler for sound dampenning fiberglass.

If your goal is to dampen the sound, that might be good.

i have a single turbo with a ported motor, and 3" straight through with a racing beat dual exaust was bearable but very loud. then i added a greddy 3.75" silencer to bring the noise level to something i can live with.

if you want to have an effective exhaust system with good sound dampenning, go with the greddy titanium, and use the midpipe that they sell with it. cost a fortune though. or if you have access to welding, make a 3.5 exaust like you said, but add sound dampenning midpipe but add sound dampenning

i know someone that did the same setup and it came out with a high pitch metallic sounding exhaust tone

I had a 5zigen a while i agree those ARE quiet. Mine had a silencer welded in to it (from the 5zigenn factory)but i think it went 2.75" to 3" i dont thi k it was full 3"

how bout yours?

sen2two 02-19-2007 01:31 PM

its 2.75 to 3.......not much of a difference though.
