Messing with my friend on a back road I went to hit 3rd gear and I missed it and when i finally slammed it in it felt like I lost all power. I was like Oh **** not a apex seal!!!!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png I guess I was freaking out cus I thought i had less power and the car wasnt right. Had it compression tested and vacuum tested and everything was perfect. So who knows what happened. Also my car has BAD wheel hop with the bridestone potenza S-03's. I didnt know this was very bad for the rear end but I dropped the clutch just once and she hopped all through first gear. People on rx7forum.com told me to get a diff brace to stop this. after the clutch drop and all the wheel hoppping I smelled clutch hardcore. After going into debt for the rest of my life to be able to afford the FD I dont think I could bear blowin a seal after only 3 days of having it. It has 55k miles so i guess its time to start saving for a full rebuild soon before i do lose a seal. Im surprised I can even burn the clutch with the ACT Street/Strip. Anyways, who would be the closest rx-7 tuner to wisconsin? I really wanna get it checked out and tuned by someone who specializes in rotarys.

Ok. First off your "loss in power" was probably you shifting into 5th instead of 3rd, https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif lol. Your bad wheel hop is common in FD's and is caused by launching at too low RPMs or not feathering the clutch enough. Sticky tires like SO3's will make it worse. A diff brace will definitely help with the wheel hop, as will solid diff bushings. I'm not very well versed on clutches, but 55K miles on a street/strip clutch shouldn't make it go bad unless you are REALLY burning it up. At 55k Miles if you have the reliability mods done and respect the car (i.e. dont boost the **** outta it when its cold), you shouldn't have to worry about an engine rebuild yet.

Hope i helped https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

I dont think i shifted into 5th cus i have a bad synchro and I wouldve heard the grind, I am still not sure what caused the power loss but maybe i hit 5th fast and didnt hear the grind? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png oh well, my car seems to be fine now. Thanx for the reply
