when my fd came back NOTHING WORKED. it was in for a rebuild and now when i went to turn the heater on (chicago is cold) no air came out, the fan in general doesnt work. When i got stuck in the rain, the rear wiper didnt work, so im thinking electrical problem.. my lights all work properly, as well as the radio, but NOTHING ELSE. i need ATLEAST my defroster to work (rear works) my car fogs up, and when its raining i cannot open my windows to cool it off..

PLEASE HELP!

when my car origionally went in, EVERYTHING worked, except the engine...

I guess you checked all of the fuses?

Did you have them put in a Haltech or something of the such? If so they may have missed the wiring for those parts. If they didn't put one in then try checking the connections at your computer. The harness that comes threw the fire wall has a sub connector that goes to the dash wiring harness. Check to see if it is connected. They may have missed it because it doesn't affect the way the motor runs. I believe the harness connector for the dash wiring harness is white and all the other connectors for the other stuff are yellow. The connections are located under the dash on the passenger side, by the kick panel, just forward of the door hinge. If you don't want to do this yourself then I suggest you take it back to them and have them finish the job you paid them to do.

no way am i taking the car back, all work is now done by me (unless i blow my engine again) i installed a pfc myself so i know that area very well, but even before i did that, nothing worked still! with the stock ecu...

what should that white harness plug into? i know the yellows go into the pfc.

i have not checked ALL the fuses, there are soo many damm boxes, i dont know which ones would controll what... oh and when i brought the car in, my fogs worked, now they dont at all...

do you have the shop manual for your car?

the wiring diagrams should be a great help in figuring this out.

papasmurf 04-03-2003 06:00 PM

no i dont as of yet, im usually pretty good at chasing stuff down with domestics due to the lack of technology and all, but im thinking about tearing down the interior tonight to get everything working.. before i do, i'll check the fuses...

it doesn't make ANY sence though, the ecu was NOT touched in the rebuild, only the engine should've been touched.... but now nothing works... wtf???!!!

i need these working, untill summer when heat doesn't matter untill night time for me.

pengaru 04-03-2003 06:22 PM

I wouldnt tear down anything, like you said, it doesnt make sense.

something is screwed at some point in the system, and it's not likely to be anything you'll find tearing the interior apart since it was not touched in the engine install... probably something stupid.

Buy or download the shop manual for your car and look at the wiring diagrams related to the systems you are having problems with. Just taking a logical systematic approach to it using the diagram for a reference and a test light / multimeter you should be able to fix it pretty easily. just tedious.

ill see what i can do, its probablly a short somewhere, fuses etc. ill screw with it tonight and see if i can find anything. thanks for your help.
