Had to pull my engine this weekend to fix a bad pilot bearing (long story). I did disconnect the battery but at one point the UIM touched the alternator which sent a jolt of electricity from the driver's side where it touched to the ground strap on the back of the UIM. It was very minor but I thought I'd mention it.

Well everything is back together on the car but I have no interior lights, radio, cigarette lighter power, gauges, not even the PFC's power commander comes on. Windows go up and down. Power door locks don't work. Car will crank but I do not want to fire her up until I have working gauges. I checked all the fuses under the dash and all were good. I checked the fuses under the hood, all are good.

Could I have possibly blown a relay or is there a main ignition fuse I've somehow missed?

you check the wiring on the alt ? you might have fried the wiring off the alt with the power surge. did you also test the battery as well ?

the main fuse is the big ole 120amp one that is in the small fuse box on the side of the battery. Did you visually check all of your fuses or check them with a test light and/or meter?

ya it should have blown the 120 A fuse, its a cream color and its the one all the way on top, or bottom however your looking at it I dunno.

Turned out to be the main fuse..I was just physically spent from pulling and reinstalling the engine and transmission. Was dark and I had rearranged the battery fuse box some time back so I completely overlooked it. Problem solved and car is back on the road!

Thought about doing that or perhaps pulling out the soldering gun..but the local parts store had the 100A fuses in stock. My blow fuse was a 120A however. I know I've never changed it and I've had the car since it was practially new (9.000 miles).

just get the right one man. The only thing that fuse does is protect from the battery terminals being put on backwards. But like you and me, we both obviously need that fuse because we both blew it so. Just call up ray at malloy and get the right fuse, its cheap anyway ! 3 bucks !
