Well i am getting ready to drop an fd motor into my fd but i want to stay with the electric omp and the crank trigger setup for the ignition what do you guys use for stand alones that run all this for a relatively cheap price and has good adjustments. I have the whole harness and every thing but there is more to the factory harness then what i need right

treceb 07-14-2005 02:28 PM

power FC

SPEED_NYC 07-14-2005 02:31 PM

most ppl here think the only way to controol an electric omp with a standf aslone is to pre mix. there is now a device that can and will contrrool any series 5 of 6 OMP independantly of any ecu weather it be factory, haltech, wolf ect. PM me for details if you're intrested. this device has been undergoing testing in several S5 and 6 rx7's for several months now and will be ready for full release in the comming weeks (look for full writeup in RX Tuner Magazine). I'll have the creator post some details here in the next few days.

what all is involved in putting the power fc in??Is it a plug and play?? does it have it own harness? What i am trying to figure out is i think i will have more with the factory harness then what i need i think from what i can tell from wiring diagrams that i have it will take evey wire from under the hood on the third gen and i dont need all that i just need the engine harness to make it run that is all i want

treceb 07-14-2005 02:35 PM

unplug factory ecu. plug in power FC.

wait, did you mean drop FD motor in your FB?

Why don't you just run the S4 TII front cover and go with mechanical OMP? Then just rig it so that it injects the max amount regardless of RPM?

If you are worried about smoke from too much premix, Stock is around 1:100

my lawnmower takes 1:28 ratio and it doesn't smoke.

Yes i did mean an FD motor into my FB. I bought a whole fd that was a project car for someone.I want to put the FD motor and trans into the FB, the only reason i am doing this is because i have got so much money into the FB. It did have a s/p 6port that was turboed in it till i blew it up a couple of weeks ago. The car was fast and fun to drive and the best part was it is a old sport compact that no one ever builds that is the other reason i want to keep it and build it.

The reason i dont want to go this route is the fact that the front cover and water pump and the water pump housing are all ceramic coated and i would like to keep this a part of the motor. You got to remember all this is going into an FB so i have to swap front subframes out so i can run the third gen motor mounts on it too. I dont want to have to run pre-mix because i go to many miles in the car and that is one thing that I would always worry about making sure i run enough premix i just want a good simple daily driver once it all put together i drive the car about 15-20k miles a yea so i will call it a daily driver.

Ceramic coated. Pics? Anyways if you use the S4TII front cover you don't need to run premix you can still have it draw oil from the crank case. Also if this is giong into a 1st gen, can you use a 13b GSL-SE front cover?

FB MAZDATURBO 07-14-2005 03:35 PM

yes i can use a 13b front cover but i will have to build an oil pan and that gets rid of the ceramic coated parts i want to keep
