I just got my car back after having a battery cable and EGR valve replaced. I didn't like the thought of it, because I had it replaced 1 year ago when I bought the car. The next day I noticed that I wasn't getting any sound from my radio. It worked, but no sound. I checked the power to the amplifier and it wasn't connected. I also noticed that I wasn't getting any O2 sensor values above 0.01, and the car was sluggish below 3500 RPM. After reconnecting the power to the amp, I found that the O2 sensor and the vacuum hose from the BOV to the UIM wasn't wasn't reconnected.

After reconnecting these the car ran much smoother, but about 10 minutes later I got a check engine light. It was an error code 16 (EGR) again. I cleared the codes and after about 5 minutes I got it again.

The mechanic is telling me that the reason the light is coming on is because the vacuum hose to the UIM was disconnected. I reconnected it 2 days ago, and it came on again this morning on my way to drop it off.

Is his explanataion a valid one?

If you dont have emissions laws in your state you can just use a 1/2 watt 330 ohm resistor from radio shack and use it to trick the ecu into thinking its still hooked up. Id also get rid of that damn egr and make a block off plate or you can just buy it from rx7trix.com https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

I get the check engine light all the time. I don't even wioory about it. I think its my O2 sensor. But I was wondering if it could be my aftermarket exhaust because of condensation or something. Sorry if I sound inexperienced but I am and I am still learning. should I be worried about the engine light??

If its your o2 sensor you should be worried thats the input into your ecu of how much fuel to add or subtract. I would worry about any check engine light you have thats kinda why they were invented "Check engine" https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png
