which brand has the easiest, most hassle free, direct fitting stainless steel downpipe to install ?

I am pretty sure that both the Pettit and the M2 ones are a good fit .

It's the lower bolt that is the one that can be trickey to get to.

recommend the pettit..

hassles experienced during installs are typically generated from old studs...

I've read that the M2 doesn't require you to remove any studs, so it would probably be the easiest if that's true.



I just installed a Pettit a few days ago, and it fit fine, though you do have to remove one stud. In my case, the nuts, and that one stud came out easily. In fact, the lower rear nut was only finger tight, probably since Mazda replaced the motor 9k miles ago. Pettit gives you an allen head bolt to put in place of the lower rear stud. They also give you new nuts, and studs in case you need them, and the O2 sensor is in an absolutely perfect location for access. It's a good product.

The HKS has a stock-style flange, so I would say it is the easiest to install. I have them on sale for $194.

Yeah, I researched this last week. It seems that the consensus is that the HKS downpipe is the easiest to install since it is shaped very similar to stock. The price mentioned in the post above seems to be a very good price. I saw them selling used on Ebay for more than that.



I installed the SR Motorsports downpipe and had no problems. Of course my studs did me the favor of removing themselves from the turbo along with the bolts.THat made things easier. Getting the downpipe to turbo bolts in place was a little bit tricky but not too bad. Being able to retain your stock studs would make life easier so that is why the HKS might be easiest.

problem with the HKS downpipe is that it's not stainless steel... i think they only come in mild steel

The Tripoint one that I had gave me no problems whatsoever. I did not have to remove the studs either. I highly recommend it.
