yes it comes apart, thats the easy part, putting it back together is another story.

To take it apart take the pulley off, the take out the 4 long bolts (8mm with a phillips head center), then you just have to pry the 2 halves apart, or you can use a rubber or plastic faced hammer to tap it apart. Sometimes the center section will stay with the top piece, sometimes the bottom. Either way pull it off. Now you are good to go. I reccomend having the 2 halves shipped out now to be chrome dipped https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

Now to put it back together..... When you look into the back half you will see the 2 brushes, They have to be pushed back in and helt there during re-assembly. If you turn the rear half over you will see a small pin hole that lines up with where the brushes are. Get a small nail that will fit in that hole. put the nail in as far as it will go, next use a pick or something small with a right angle to pust the lower brush back into the holder, when it is in all the way you will be able to push that nail abou 1/2 inch further. repeat the process for the upper brush. When they are both pushed back, reassemble the alternator, once it's all done, pull the nail out and you are finished!!

Like I said, go for the chrome https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
