I just completed the installation of an M2 Stage 3 package on my RX7. (the power gain is nice by the way! Even with the stock boost levels)
I also did the AST elimination modification at this time so I didn't have to bother with remounting my AST in another location. I have carefully "burped" the cooling system several times. I have driven the car three times now for over 15 minutes and the temperature gauge reads normal. I don't hear any "gurgling" from my cooling system. The coolant is filled to the top of the waterpump housing every morning after I drive the car. My question is that my heater now hardly puts out any heat at all! I am worried that this is a sign that there is still air in my system. What do you guys think? Thanks! |
try "burping"
the system with the heater to full hot, and in the lower "feet" position |
are you burping the system with the radiator, ie the front of the car, up higher than the rest of the car? When my buddy burped his system it wouldnt work but it burped fine when i parked it on a slight hill.

Hmmmm... Ok I'll try it on an incline.
Thanks guys. |
Yea take the cap off on the hill and let it run for like 15 minutes. Let it bubble and crap then cap it and take it for a ride.

air will rise to the top no matter the incline. the heater core has a valve that blocks flow of coolant when the temp knob is turned to cool. if there is no flow through the core, all the air will sit there. turn the heat on!
