No, don't go buy new plugs. The 9s are fine. It's just a difference between hotter and colder plugs. Taking two of the 9s out and putting in 7s isn't going to make your car start. Unless your AWS is capped off or re-routed then it will kick in for cold starts. The all 9s aren't going to hurt a thing. If all 9s make it harder to start it's only by tenths of a second anyway.

Also, not to be the barer of bad news but it sounds like your probs are more than just spark plug/fuel pump related.

I agree, if they are that wet, and you have tried unflooding it, then I would say it probably has to be coolant. I really don't see that much oil getting in there, but I could be wrong.

Nobody is being a bearer of bad news, haha. I'm taking it in to get a rebuilt engine in the next couple weeks. There is an internal coolant leak. I've known that from the get go. Just trying to figure out why the car won't start up. I'd like to be able to drive it over to the shop rather than tow it. Tow trucks always f**k up my front lip. I will be taking out the plugs and cranking the motor tonight, to unflood the engine. I will let you all know if it starts up tomorrow. ::CROSS FINGERS::

Also is it not smart to clean out a spark plug with an air compressor? I have a feeling the new ones that I just put in last night are already soaked in coolant/oil.

honestly, i've cleaned them off with a cig lighter before. For what you are doing it for..... it'll be fine. The car isn't starting because there is water residue in the combusion chamber still... add a lil marvel mystery oil to help lubricate it and clean the water out.

Great news, I took out the plugs cranked the engine, cleaned it all out. A couple tries after the plugs were reinstalled and vroom!! She started right up! Drove it around the block drives perfect, except one thing. And Im not sure if it has anything to do with the intake I just installed. As soon as boost starts to kick in, the car won't go. I cant go past 0 boost. haha, but its a start. Any ideas why i cant step on it with any boost? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

SPICcnmGT 06-28-2006 08:21 AM

Do you mean it just won't go past 0psi(drives normal just won't boost), or the car acts funny??

If it just won't boost try checking for IC piping that popped off. The piping between the turbos and the UIM is about the only reason it wouldn't boost at all.

Or maybe a collapsed intake hose, I had that happen one time on the track and I wouldn't get any boost until the secondary kicked in.

bartlette84 06-28-2006 09:34 AM

No I mean its more like, the car drives fine, until the boost gauge reaches 0 psi. Then the car just wont go at all. like its not getting any air/fuel. It just sort of putters and jolts. It feels kind of like when you first learned to drive a stick shift and it does that rocking back and forth thing when you dont shift smooth. Then the boost goes down and it drives fine again. Its very strange, and I am BRAND new to turbos so I dont know the first place to look. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

bump, this is really starting to bug me. it drives fine until boost. then poops. could it be vacuum hose? or perhaps something to do with the intake i just installed? please help!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

SPICcnmGT 07-05-2006 09:46 AM

I would think it is a sensor or something. I wouldn't think vacuum hose, unless it is a malfunction with the wastegate causing it to open and close rapidly. I would say check the MAP sensor hose, but you said it idles fine and runs ok, so I doubt thats it.

bartlette84 07-05-2006 06:08 PM

i was thinking maybe the secondary injectors arent firing? is there a way to check if they are? it could also be the fuel pump relay or air pump relay, i took them both out when i was unflooding my engine. maybe something got messed up with the removal/install of the relays? i guess the only way to pin point the problem is to go through the service manual and check each diagnosis i can. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png
