Ok I have overheated on time and come close a few times. When I park my car it leaks coolant from the coolant overflow tank. I thought that the tank was cracked but it was just getting full and when the tank gets full coolant come out of a little hole in the top of it. I am thinking that either my fans are not coming on or that i need to replace the thermostat and radiator cap. There is a lot of preasure that builds up in the cooling system but that is normal, a cooling system is suppose to preasurize. What fuse is it that belongs to the fans, I should check that first. What do you think my problem is. I just installed the aluminum Koyo 2 weeks ago.

The fuse is good. I need to check if the fan motors are good too now.

don't forget the 4 relays that control the fans. They are on the passenger side fender well. They are prone to go bad

also an easy way to check the fans is to turn the a/c on(if you have it), as long as the a/c fan relay is good, the fans will come on

Danno 04-29-2004 01:45 PM

Interesting, do you know how to test them?

turbovr6 04-29-2004 05:02 PM

kinda hard to explain. you need the wire diagrams to do it.

did you try the "turn on the a/c" idea?

Did you bleed all the air out? I beleive the over flow should only be 1/2 filled, did you fill it all the way? O-ring failure would cause overflow upon shutdown when the temp spikes. To bleeed coolant, lift up and hold hose connected to throttlebody untill all the bubles escape and only coolant come out (with car on idle and filler cap open). I think that's right. SOmeone correct me if in't not.

yeah you have blown coolant seals my man. sorry but it is time to get a new motor. imo

Danno 05-01-2004 10:36 PM

Its not the motor. It runs fine I just need to test the fans they are not coming on.

yea ull see some white smoke well more than some, ull see a lot of white smoke if ur coolant seals are busted, and ull burn it like a mofo
