Well this all started when I installed a different fuel pump that the previous owner gave me. I took it for a spin around the block and of course I would hit fuel cut and make the car shutter. I expected this to happen. Then when I tried to put it in gear again, nothing. I couldn't put it in any gear.

So I push it back home (not cool) and put it on the stands to look into the service port. What I see is astonishing, the pressure plate is half way off the flywheel! So out comes the trans and in goes a new exedy organic clutch. Button everything up and bleed the clutch. Everything feels perfect, I start the car up and try to put it in gear but nothing.

So up come the car again and I ask my friend to disengage the clutch while I look at it through the service port. He disengages, pressure plate moves off the friction disk, but not enough to let it spin freely. I bleed the clutch a little more but it's not that, there are no leaks in the line. Any advice?

there is an adjustment for freeplay of the clutch pedal. there is a rod that goes from the pedal linkage to the clutch master. sometimes the nut comes loose and the rod moves. Try adjusting that rod and see if it helps.

I've tried the pedal adjustment also, could it be a bent clutch fork?

Coutd try servicing one or both of you clutch cylinders.
